What exactly does MING Chat Monitor do when installed on a PC connected to a LAN?

MSN Chat Monitor using NIS enables the network card's promiscuous mode and captures network traffic on the local LAN segment. Then it filters Ethernet packets  and parses them to reconstruct instant message (AOL, MSN, Yahoo, ICQ) sessions. After that MSN Chat Monitor can log instant messages.

What is the impact on my network?

As a passive listener, there is no impact on the network, or on the time to deliver the messages to the recipient.

What is the difference between the trial version and the licensed version?

The major difference is that the trial version is limited to 10 PCs (3 PCs for MING Chat Monitor Home), and will expire and cease to function 7 days after installation. The trial version displays only first 30 messages of each conversation.

Why I capture noting?

When you start to capture messages, you must select an adapter for capture packet. Your can try every adapter, until find today's packets number go up in the state bar if any people using instant messenger in time.

How are the Instant Messages stored?

All conversations are stored in a local database (included). You can analyze the data based on the participants, time or date, or you can scan the conversations for keywords. 

No adapter can be finding in the software, how can I do?

Does MING Chat Monitor contain any advertising or spyware?

No.

I just want to monitor 10 PCs, but there are about 30 PCs in our LAN. How many users should I purchase?

The program don't allow the administrator to select users to monitor now. So you'd better purchase the 30-user license.
